The wait is nearly over – after a five year hiatus, Taco Wars returns to Street Feast on Tuesday 21st May, bringing together some of London’s best chefs who’ll compete for the Corona Cup and £2,500 prize.
A formidable list of challengers including Breddos Tacos, Santo Remedio, and Bob’s Lobster will be taking part, serving their exclusive taco creations for one night only at Dinerama. The full line up of traders has now been revealed:
Breddos – braised short rib and pineapple taco
Luardos – Lil Miss Piggy Rico (mojo pork, roast garlic salsa verde, maple habanero-glaze pineapple, chicharrones, coriander lime)
Santo Remedio – short rib and mole negro taco with plantain, chicatana ants and Mexican cacao
Bob’s Lobster – Sashimi grade tuna, ponzu dressing, hispi cabbage slaw, spiked with wasabi guacamole and chipotle
White Men Can’t Jerk x Cabrito – Slow smoked curry goat, frijoles rojo, spiced puffed rice, pink onion, curry drizzle, corn taco
Elote – Achiote marinated Fish taco, pico de gallo, chipotle and lime mayonnaise
Homies on Donkeys – dish TBA
Neil Rankin x Club Mexicana – dish TBA
A £40 ticket includes eight tacos, one from each trader competing, plus an ice cream taco from Chin Chin Labs, a bottle of Corona and a Patron Chilliback. You can either have all that for yourself, or share with a friend.
