The ultimate foodie festival kicked off at the weekend, with the first stop on Tom Kerridge’s tour, in his home town of Marlow. The loveable Michelin star chef has rounded up his chef buddies – who between them have a very impressive 18 Michelin stars – and together, they’ll be offering taster portions of their signature dishes.
We didn’t manage to eat everything but we gave it a good go. Some of our favourites included Tom Kerridge’s fried chicken with ranch dressing and pickled slaw from his pub The Hand & Flowers, and the smoked hog taco with BBQ pineapple and sweetcorn salsa and habanero mayo from his other establishment, The Coach.
Aside from king Tom you can expect Claude Bosi’s Oyster Bar at Bibendum, Jason Atherton’s Berners Tavern, Michel Roux Jr.’s The Wigmore and the brilliant Italian cooking of Angela Hartnett’s Cafe Murano amongst so many more.
In between stuffing our face, we sang our hearts out to 90’s girl band royalty, All Saints (yep, we can still remember every word), The Bluetones and Jack Bugg. There are over 50 music acts performing across the whole festival including Kaiser Chiefs, Texas, Clean Banditt, Razorlight, Fun Lovin Criminals and Basement Jaxx. In between that, you can expect chef demonstrations, top quality shopping and other festival fun.
Tom Kerridge said “Last year’s Pub in the Park festivals were so much fun, I can’t wait to bring excellence in food, world class chefs, ace music and an awesome vibe to eight locations across the UK this year.”
