#LoveScotch at The Drift

Hands up if you think that whisky isn’t the drink for you. Too strong? Too smoky? Well there’s a campaign taking off to make you reconsider whisky as a drink of choice.
#lovescotch is a campaign designed to promote the diversity and versatility of Scotch whisky. It aims to show people that there is a whisky for everyone and that many cocktails can be adapted to include Scotch for a bit of variety from the everyday.

The Drift Bar and Restaurant, located in the Heron Tower on Bishopsgate, is running a selection of cocktail masterclasses all using a range of specially-chosen Scotch. The first masterclass offers an experimental and interactive experience where participants will learn how to make Scotch cocktails. The mixologist has created four cocktails each designed to match a certain mood! A choice of tartan determines your mood that evening, and while you whip up the matching cocktail, the mixologist will tell you the story of the cocktail, and the Scotch chosen to make it.

The second masterclass on offer invites you to try out some classic cocktails with a whisky twist! The Scotchtail masterclass takes a selection of cocktails traditionally made with other spirits and substitutes whisky in its place. A classic Mojito becomes The Scottish Flora using Cardhu Amber Rock and a Porn Star Martini becomes the Goldmember with Johnnie Walker Gold. The Scottish Flora is light and refreshing (a mix of Cardhu, honey, raspberries, lime, ginger and topped up with prosecco) and we could easily drink two or three of these! But, our personal favourite, was the twist on an Espresso Martini. Talisker 10 Year Old, espresso and gingerbread syrup combine to make the Morning Skye, a delicious after-dinner drink!

Scotchtail masterclasses are available for private bookings of up to 10 people and include two cocktails for £20 and three cocktails for £30.
