The team at The Diner have been living the American dream the last few months. Spending weeks on the road from New York to deep south Tennessee and out west to the depths of Venice Beach for California dreamin’, all in the name of research. Tough job huh? But now they are BACK with the ultimate American menu. Hurrah!
It wouldn’t be a diner without a banging burger menu. Our favourite? The Diablo with 8oz patty, crisp bacon, cheese and that infamous Diner burger sauce on a smooth bun. The Catfish Po Boy is a new sub-style sandwich stuffed with breaded catfish – the addition of hot sauce and pickles was dreamy.
We’ve never knowingly found Mac & Cheese on the menu and not ordered it – here we got a generous portion with a golden brown top and oozy, gooey middle. Just how we like it.
Don’t make the school boy error we did and order a thick milkshake straight up. Instead opt for one of the craft beers from the extensive menu and save the New York Cheese cake (with chewy bits!) for dessert. (They’ll even let you take it to go!)
And in case you’re feeling particularly hungover, we should probably tell you about the ALL DAY breakfast. The Lumberjack will probably sort you out – 2 eggs, buttermilk pancakes, bacon, maple syrup and whipped honey butter & wash it all down with a Bacon Mary. Yeah you read that right pal, bacon salt, pickle juice and East London Liquor Co. vodka.
