Now the sun is finally shining in London we can stop dreaming of far-away lands and begin to enjoy the outdoors on our own doorstep! Terrazza on the Thames, a Venetian-inspired pop-up, has just opened at Columbia Restaurant, Bar and Terrace in London’s Docklands.
The terrazza (the sun’s making us feel all Italian) offers a menu of Prosecco, cicchetti (Venetian tapas) and live music, all with a fabulous view of the Thames and Canary Wharf.
As well as a classic flute of Prosecco, a range of Italian wines and Prosecco-based cocktails are also on offer. The Bolla Bellini, peach purée topped up with Bolla Prosecco, and the Bol-jito, a twist on the classic Mojito, were particular favourites.
And if you need something to nibble on while you’re out, grab a bruschetta with tomato, truffle, wild mushroom, ricotta and almonds, or a hand-stretched pizza layered with Prosecco-marinated buffalo mozzarella, Parma ham, rucola and a spicy tomato sauce, all cooked in a special, outdoor pizza oven.
Want more? Every Wednesday in May will feature live saxophone music, while Thursdays and Fridays offer a DJ playing you into the weekend.
If you can’t go to Venice, bring Venice to you!
Terrazza on the Thames is open every night until 30th September 2016, at Columbia Restaurant, DoubleTree by Hilton London, Docklands Riverside.
