Because Turkey’s aren’t just for Christmas.
Have we reached peak-Chicken? Fried Chicken, Roast Chicken, Korean Fried Chicken – London has it all.
So you might want to check out the wonderful new TURKEY concept from Strut & Cluck.
Forget your Mum’s overcooked Christmas offering, at Strut & Cluck the juicy bird is given an Eastern Mediterranean makeover in a gorgeous light, bright space on Commercial Street. Complete with hanging pots and dreamy plates that we’d love for our own flat, the space doesn’t feel at all gimmicky.
Now open for brunch, we ordered the Insta-worthy fried egg on hand-pulled turkey shawarma with dates, pine nuts, tahini and pita. The menu also offers a selection of mazetim, or small plates ideal for adding on the side, including Labneh with za’atar, Feta with honey, sesame and sumac, Zhoug, and Homemade preserves. Go for the Tel Aviv style full breakfast and you’ll get to try them all!
We are a sucker for garlic yoghurt which was generously served with perfectly poached eggs and a warm pitta for scooping. A side of smokey aubergine helped soak it all up and the tahini with olive oil was so good we slathered it on everything.
If you’re looking for something a little more substantial (Brunch goes on until 3pm) you’ll love the Sunday Roast – choose between a thigh or drumstick – which then comes with garlic & rosemary potatoes, honey & cumin carrots, chargrilled stem broccoli, a Yorkshire pud & gravy! So now it really can be Christmas every (Sun)Day! Hurrah!
