STK London located on the ground floor of the ME London hotel along the Strand recently launched their “777” menu. It’s an inspired concept with the restaurant giving diner’s the opportunity to sample some of the delectable delights on offer at STK and share the unique restaurant experience. The menu gives you 7 choices of drinks and 7 dishes, all at 7 pounds (unsurprisingly), served ’til the grand old time of 7pm. This bodes well for all you busy bees with a limited amount of time who want to have a high end experience with good food and drink, at an affordable price (which is a bonus in anyones estimation). It’s served in the bar from 5pm Mon-Fri and features a seasonal menu.
The atmosphere is relaxed and unassuming and the staff friendly so you feel at ease. My fellow diner and I tried the STK signature Lil’ BRG (that’s burger for those who are not familiar with text speak). The two miniature burgers come with wagyu beef and a special sauce and after devouring both, we could see why it’s the signature dish in all STK restaurants around the world. The prawn krispies were another pleasant delight- shellfish bisque with big juicy prawns and coriander anyone? I don’t mind if I do.. There’s also tuna tartar, salt beef brisket, and watermelon & feta salad on offer.
The drinks menu comprised of some decent wines and cocktails, the highlight being the signature STK Martini (complete with decorated flowers) and the thyme and blueberry collins, and for £7, you can’t go wrong.
STK is a place for smart people, as in dressed smart, with international glamour and the sense of style you expect. A place to drop a few quid very quickly. But with these 777 prices, it’s a good way for those of is not loaded to feel a bit special, albeit only until 7pm..
