Having launched in the heart of the East End with a market stall in Brick Lane back in 2006, Rosa’s Thai Cafe now has permanent sites in Spitalfields, Soho, Westfield Stratford, Carnaby, Chelsea, Angel and now Victoria.
The cute corner spot on Gillingham Street has managed to retain the cosy family feel that links all the restaurants.
Rest assured you’ll find all of your favourites still on the menu as well as some brand new dishes to keep things fresh. The menu helpfully highlights its winning dishes in case you’re overwhelmed with choice as we were!
Cocktail-wise we’d suggest kicking things off with a fiery Birdseye Clementine Daiquiri, complete with Havana Club and chilli syrup. Not for the fainthearted! Crispy marinated chicken wings come with a spicy sweet chilli dip to add extra warmth, whilst the Thai sausage is packed full of spices, making it the most flavoursome version we’ve tried for some time! Both of these are best shared over cocktails.
Although the main menu does feature a lot of meat heavy options – one of our favourite dishes of the evening has to be the Butternut Squash Red Curry – simply delicious with healthy garlic brown rice! Punchy Thai flavours collide with ingredients sourced as locally as possible, from British beef and lamb to Thai basil grown in London. These fresh and exciting dishes come in the form of seasonal curries, zingy salads, warming soups and great-tasting noodle stir-frys.
We were far too full to contemplate dessert but there is a decent wine selection to switch too after cocktails.
They also offer a dedicated Veggie menu AND Gluten free menu for those of you with those requirements!
