Rooftop Film Club

What marks the arrival of summer in the city better, than the return of the Rooftop Film Club who this year will be celebrating all things love with their programme of swoon-worthy #RooftopRomance films screened under the stars.

We headed to Peckham’s Bussey Building, to catch the timeless ‘UP’ film (honestly, if you don’t cry, you’re a monster!) whilst London treated us to one of its epic sunsets. Aside from Peckham, you’ll also be able to catch a flick at Stratford’s Roof East and the Queen of Hoxton.

The May programme has a great mix of feel-good movies across all venues such as Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing and ET, cult classics include Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Lost Boys and Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, and recent award-winners such as Olivia Coleman’s The Favourite and The Greatest Showman. 13th May is Top Gun Day (yes, that’s a thing), so bring a wingman and fly high on the roof of Queen of Hoxton with a screening, or prepare for a tear jerker on Notebook Day on May 21st at Bussey Building, Peckham.

Rooftop Film Club Food

Before the curtains opened we tucked into vegan and meaty hotdogs with a side of the cheesiest chips courtesy of Rockadollar, washed down with tropical cocktails at the bar. The headphones were crystal clear and we kept warm (just about!) under snuggly blankets.

Also worth mentioning is that this year, Rooftop Film Club’s headline sponsor, extrême, will be handing out ice creams at 150 screenings – hurrah!

For the true film aficionado, you might want to splurge on membership. Rooftop Film Club’s classic and cult packages provide free tickets, discounted drinks, entrance to ‘Member Mondays’ and much more (full details available here). Also available this year, is a Rooftop Film Club digital gift card.
