Pitt Cue Co.

Pitt Cue Co. is small but perfectly formed and cosy enough to feel homely without pretension. After being led to our teeny tiny table which had been fitted snugly under the stairs, it was the menu that really got me going. Pulled pork? Tamworth chop? Short BBQ rack of ribs? Don’t mind if I do!

I went for the ribs and was not disappointed. Succulent and flavoursome – definitely a great dish.

On the side I had beetroot and goats curd, which I think went well with the ribs as it wasn’t too heavy.

For dessert the three of us shared a brandy cream ice-cream with mandarin short bread. It was nice, but a bit lacking in brandy taste for my liking.

All in all a great evening, but get there early to avoid the [notorious] queue. We arrived at 6pm on the dot and were one of the first groups seated. By 6.10 the place was full. Upon leaving there was still a queue – and at 8pm on a subzero evening, standing in line outside has got to feel pretty bogus!
