Caprice have come up with the ultimate summer date, so you can take all the credit without doing more than booking a table.
Pre-Theatre is so last year darling, it’s all about pre-art exhibition these days.
Luckily enough those clever cats at Le Caprice are offering 2 courses alongside a glass of Aperol Spritz AND a ticket to the spectacular Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy for just £37!
The paired back menu lets you choose from summer favourites, we found the hot smoked salmon salad to be a very generous portion, with each salad cup filled with layers of salmon and flecked with cute quail’s eggs.
Fat asparagus spears are perfectly cooked and simply served alongside a jug of hollandaise sauce for you to drizzle at will.
We can’t get enough of asparagus so chose it again for main, this time with a beautiful piece of seared sea bream. Or if you fancy something meaty you can’t go far wrong with the Chicken alla Milanese served with rocket & lemon which keeps it fresh and light.
If you forgo a starter to hit up the desserts then we’d recommend the Cru Virunga chocolate marquise served with grown up olive oil ice-cream. We can confirm this is big enough to share!
Le Caprice is undoubtedly an institution and still very traditional but that’s what makes it special and ideal for a date night. Take your loved one on a Friday, enjoy the live piano and then hot foot it over to the RA for a sipsmith gin (not too many mind, or you won’t be able to resist snapping up the art on sale!!). The RA is open until 10pm on Friday.
