Kinilaw & Buko 50% off Soft Launch

Kinilaw & Buko

Just when you thought you’d tried every cuisine London had to offer, along comes Kinilaw & Buko, an exciting new Filipino restaurant and cocktail bar in the heart of Hoxton.

They’ll be on soft launch next week from Tuesday 16th to Saturday 20th October with 50% off food at dinner only.

Filipino Head Chef Francis Puyat, the culinary brains behind 100 Hoxton and mastermind of last year’s halloumi pop up (including *THAT* halloumi ice cream) has once again teamed up with his old pal, 100 Hoxton Founder Andrew Zilouf. Together they have taken the site next door on Hoxton Street, a former tailors’ shop, to open the restaurant that they have dreamt about for years.

Francis is going back to his roots with this exciting new launch, creating two unique concepts in one: Kinilaw, a Filipino take on Ceviche that uses palm vinegar and kalamansi instead of lime to break down enzymes and denature protein and Buko, a fusion, artisan Filipino ice cream concept served in a baby coconut shell.  Low in carbs and saturated fats, vegan, vegetarian and dairy free friendly, Kinilaw bars have been a huge hit across the pond.

Examples from the launch menu include, ‘Bagoong fisherman’s treat’, (daikon fermented shrimp, green peppercorns and friend garlic), Mustasa cradled duck egg (salted duck egg, heirloom tomato, mustard leaf and grated cured yolk), Diver hauls kapis treasure (hand-dived scallop, cucumber, radish, lime and fermented roe) and Baboy bounty (pork belly, dice cucumber, chilli, chicharro).

Onto the Buko and highlights include Red bean butterscotch bomb, (red bean ice cream, miso butterscotch sauce and ginger Anzac biscuit), Pop star (lychee ice cream, sumac popping candy) and Pig out (Lechon condensed milk ice cream, sea salt and black pepper caramel popcorn).  Dairy-free, coconut milk-based options are also available.

Kinilaw & Buko will open fully to the public on Tuesday 23rd October at 104 Hoxton Street, London N1 6SG.  The restaurant is closed Sunday and Monday, so its dinner only Tuesday to Saturday.
