Brazil lands in Covent Garden

For those who couldn’t make it to Brazil this summer…

The Grill from Ipanema will be offering food and drink lovers and sun seekers the a slice of Rio beach life complete with golden sand from Brazil’s shores… in Covent Garden’s Piazza from June 28th – July 13th

For the first time ever, the creators of Cabana, the Brazilian barbecue restaurant, along with their friends from Covent Garden will recreate a corner of Rio’s sun-kissed beaches… The Grill from Ipanema, a Brazilian beach grill.

On offer will be a selection of new Cabana dishes, including flame grilled skewers, chicken coxinhas and cassava chips, while refreshments from Rio come in the form of caipirinhas and batidas, whisked in the beach bar into various fruity concoctions.

During the day, The Grill from Ipanema will play host to Brazil’s iconic beach game, frescobol as beach goers are invited to spectate with a jelly nut in hand. As with any Brazilian beach, expect a string of one off events throughout the days, from cooking masterclasses to samba workshops, with the full line-up appearing soon.

Cabana’s co-founder David Ponte said: “With Brazil in the spotlight, the pop-up in Covent Garden is a unique opportunity to show London why we’re so passionate about the country. As a native Brazilian, we want to bring the energy and flavours of the country to Londoners, the celebration of life is hard to find elsewhere in the world.”
