Simply Fish

The guys from Simply Fish have been dishing out fish of all descriptions in their Camden branch since 2012 but we went to check out their Boxpark location in Shoreditch….

The stripped back box restaurant in the prime spot of Boxpark is a little sun trap – so grab a cocktail from its open bar before chowing down.

Exactly what it says on the tin – Simply Fish serves – fish – however with the menu offering a choose of how the fish is cooked, a variety of fish, sauces & sides, the choices are actually endless!

Or if you don’t trust your own judgement there are a few options already carefully put together for you – after all, you can’t go wrong with classic fish and chips aye!

To start we shared a few spicy little numbers; Sea Bass Ceviche with pickled ginger, black sesame seeds & chilli, Sizzling marinated Chilli Prawns, and Chilli salt squid with a soya and coconut sauce.

With the main course I opted to build my own dish which with fish, sauce & two accompaniments comes to a reasonable £12.75.

I baked my Seabass and topped it with a fresh and tangy Salsa Verde alongside Pak choi, ginger & garlic & braised lentils. I felt very healthy & virtuous (apart from the wine!)

This was my favourite dish of the night.

However I’m happy to report the House Recommendation of Jerk Seabass, pineapple salsa, steamed rice & sweet potato wedges lived up to my combo too!

Whichever way you choose to do things here don’t forget to eat it then tweet it #SimplyFish
