Venerdi, Chatsworth Road

Local Italian favourites Venerdi have had more than a lick of paint – and it’s looking pretty fly!

You might have passed by recently and noticed the jazzy monochrome tiles outside, the extra al fresco seating, or the beautifully restored original sign.

However, if you’re yet to check these guys out properly, there’s never been a better time.

When the sun’s shining you might struggle to get a spot outside, luckily though the doors open right up letting all those holiday vibes right in.

Little has changed in terms of the menu – you’ll still find all your favourites here. Start with hot arancini stuffed with melted mozzarella and peas, doused in spicy tomato sauce. Or for something a little lighter the scallops with spicy sausage are a popular choice. Our tricolore was HUGE with cute presentation you’d only get in your local Italian.

Venerdi use fresh pasta and bake their own bread daily so you’ll want to try both whilst here. If you’re as indecisive as us you’ll love the Trilogy Pasta – with yep, you’ve guessed it – THREE different pastas in one. Our favourite was the pistachio stuffed ravioli but the pappardelle melanzane had an insanely rich tomato sauce and the gnocchi with a splodge of mozzarella was as comforting as you could hope for.

If pasta ain’t your thang you’ll find a ton of tasty pizza options and meaty mains (ribeye, duck breast or tuna anyone?).

Better still – between 3-7pm it’s happy hour! Order one Aperol Spritz and get another free. Can you think of a better way to end the day? Winning!
