Ceviche team up with the best of Peru in aid of the Peruvian flood disaster.
On Sunday 9th April, Ceviche Old St will be joining forces with The Anglo Peruvian Society and the Peruvian Embassy for #TogetherForPeru, a celebration of food, music and art to raise funds for the devastating flood disaster that is currently affecting Peru.* Over the last month the country has experienced the worst flooding for thirty years, with excessive rainfall and mudslides displacing hundreds of thousands of inhabitants.
To raise awareness and crucial funds to help the situation in his native country, Martin Morales and his Ceviche team will bring together the best of Peruvian culture under one roof.
Joining Executive Chef Vito Reyes in the kitchen will be chefs from all of London’s Peruvian restaurants who will all be contributing a dish for the day to add to the menu. The soundtrack for the festival will also be strictly Peruvian with percussion by David Mortara and Kieffer Santander alongside DJs Russ Jones, Cal Jader, John Armstrong, and Tiger’s Milk Records Co-Founders Duncan Ballantyne and Martin himself.
Art is an integral part of Ceviche Old St, with their walls displaying the finest Peruvian works from native and London artists. Putting their collection of art to good use, a charity auction will take place, with all proceeds going to the cause. Not only will guests be able to snap up some of the works currently hanging at the restaurant, but new works created especially by Peruvian artists for the day will also be on sale.
If experiences are more your thing, there will also be an auction to bid on the best London has to offer. Prizes include everything from meals for two at some of the best Peruvian restaurants, masterclasses, theatre productions and even some fantastic concert tickets for this summer.
“Together For Peru is a chance to bring together our Peruvian friends in London to create wonderful dishes, play some fantastic music and offer the most exciting contemporary art to help those desperately in need in Peru who have been affected by the devastating floods,” said Ceviche Founder and Chef Martin Morales. “At Ceviche, our passion is not just for Peruvian food, but for art, music and our people’s creativity. As soon as I heard about the events in my native country, the whole Ceviche team agreed that we should bring London’s Peruvian creative community together to raise money for this worthwhile cause.”
Entry for the day will be just £10, with ticket sales and money raised from the collaborative dishes donated to The Anglo Peruvian Society’s emergency Relief Fund. Proceeds will be divided between three charities; Meraki Peru, who will provide crucial medical supplies, Centro de Promocion de la Mujer Micaela Bastidas, a charity established to campaign for women’s rights and Indeci, a government run organistation providing national aid.
