We adore London, but it can be hella expensive to eat out at times. So we’re super excited to share the details of the latest supper club from Temper City.
They pride themselves on their in-house butchered steaks and follow a whole animal philosophy – and it’s this zero-waste approach that ensures nothing goes to waste. Aside from that, Temper is all about cooking meat over fire (in fact they house one of the world’s biggest restaurant fire-pits!) so it seems pretty fitting that they’d launch a banging steak & wine deal for you. Priced at £29 per person, the feast includes a 300g British rump steak, fries and bottomless red, white or rosé wine. Good deal right? Heads up though, the menu is only available at two evening sittings, 6:30pm & 8:30pm every Monday – Wednesday. You’ll be seated on the mezzanine level, looking down over the main restaurant, which meant our waiter kept us suitably topped up with the house wine throughout our 90-minute booking. We had the hangover in the morning to prove it.
We couldn’t resist ordering the intriguingly named Dorito fried fish bites to start (yep, we can confirm they came coated in the corn snack and were rather delicious), before tucking into our meaty main. This is priced in addition, as is dessert.
We were very happy with our rump, but you can upgrade to porterhouse or sirloin should you be feeling fancy. There is a choice of four sauces – beef-fat béarnaise, Korean BBQ, chipotle sour cream and a herby green sauce – but we were cheeky and got the lot between two. If you don’t ask…..! Save space for dessert though – the deep-fried banana bread with ice cream, or ‘Bananaramadrama’ as Temper like to call it, is pretty epic.
The restaurant has also recently launched a series of bottomless butchery masterclasses. These offer guests the opportunity to practice on Temper’s signature 45 day aged Hereford beef. You’ll also learn from butchery experts about a variety of breeds & cuts, the correct knife skills and how to cook any cut to perfection.
