It pains me that Suvlaki is just off Greek Street. Instead you’ll find this little Greek joint on Bateman Street.
However, if you can get over that (and we urge that you do) you’ll find Greece’s take on the burger/hot dog/burrito. Yep, Suvlaki! The Greek fast food speciality is either served on a skewer or inside a wrap and is fun, fresh and pretty healthy actually! Available from lunch to late night, eat in at the dinky little tables or grab a wrap to take out.
We’d suggest you order the Suvlaki Exuberance so you get to check everything out. For just £36 you get your choice of two skewers (we loved the lamb one), two mini wraps, a pita burger (our absolute favourite, we’re salivating just typing this!!), and four sides. Enough to easily feed two hungry people!
We LOVE feta so went for a full on attack ordering the baked feta, Cretan salad (tomatoes and crunchy rusk, think a Greek crouton, with feta), as well as lentil salad, topped with feta of course! Chips with oregano were a great addition too.
You’ll find a fully Greek wine menu alongside rare bottled craft beers from selected microbreweries in Greece to wash it all down.
There was only one dessert available when we visited – a gorgeous slab of chocolate & biscuit served alongside coffee ice-cream. The perfect end to our night.
