Sabel hosts Pie & Mash Dinner

Our FAV British food popup Sabel is supporting Row2Rio’s pioneering adventure across the Atlantic with two Pie and Mash Dinners this December.

When: 17-18th December 2015

Where: F.Cooke, 150 Hoxton St, London N1 6SH

Price: £35

Including: Three course pie and mash meal plus cocktail

Chef Toby Williams draws on his experiences from The Square, MomoFuku and collaborations with Simon Rogan and Ottolenghi – alongside 9/10 on Cheese and Biscuits to create a menu that celebrates the British surroundings and the Row2Rio team’s starting point of London, with a nod to the cuisine of Brazil, the final destination.

The Row2Rio challenge is the first of its kind. The crew will make their way with just man (and woman) power carrying them 6,700 miles to the Brazilian Olympic host city. A route no other man or women has completed, the Ocean Rowing Society has given it the go ahead and with only 1 month before the team starts their epic adventure, they are looking for final donations and sponsorship, which ultimately goes towards their chosen charity Macmillan.

Row2Rio Dinner Menu

White port and tonic on arrival

Partridge sausage rolls, pickled pears
Croquetta’s de quejo
Ceviche of queen scallops, lime, basil and avocado

Oxtail and beef cheek pie, smoked mash and liquor
or
Root vegetable and penny bun pie, smoked mash

Malted chocolate bread & butter pudding

Following the meal the Row2Rio team will be holding a fundraiser to secure vital last minute money before they set sail.

Toby says, “I had to make pie & mash, hosting the event in a pie & mash institution. The menu overall has been written with the team’s epic journey in mind, with nods to the start and end of their journey, and hopefully it will fuel them some of the way!”

THIS EVENT HAS NOW ENDED.
