Kings Cross has undergone something of a transformation of late. Now a credible dining destination, we love the canal-side location for a convenient central rendezvous with friends.
While you might be familiar with the big names located around Granary Square (Caravan, Grain Store, etc), Rotunda has an altogether more low key setting. You’ll find it tacked on to the Guardian building, just under the bridge away from the station. However, it’s worth finding as the floor to ceiling glass wraparound windows look out onto a dreamy waterside terrace, without any of the crowds.
Joining the bottomless brunch brigade, Rotunda have launched a delicious new menu featuring breakfast classics teemed with free-flowing prosecco.
Always a fan of avocado on toast, here you have the option of adding chorizo or smoked salmon with perfectly poached eggs. Served from 11am – 3pm, we recommend the 32 day aged steak with fried Clarence Court egg for a more robust option later in the day.
Rest assured, staff at Rotunda are very forthcoming with the bubbles. A beautiful bottle of prosecco was left in an ice-bucket next to our table and we were regularly topped up by the attentive team.
This gave it a sophisticated feel, rather than a ‘neck as much as you can’ vibe you sometimes see in other establishments.
This will be top of our list next time we’re getting the girls together.
