We’ve been blown away by the incredible assortment of Easter Eggs, chocolate and all round sweet treats available this year, so we’ve put together this handy guide to help you choose the best of the best for your loved ones (or yourself!).
Marks & Spencer
You just can’t go wrong with M&S. This year’s assortment has something for EVERYONE. We particularly loved the Which came first? Egg (£15) which is made up of both dark and single origin milk chocolate (perfect for sharing) with a gold chicken in the centre – we’ll let you fight over that bit! The Milk Chocolate Ridge Egg is a thing of beauty! At the higher end of M&S’s price range (£25) you’re getting a whooping 750g of chocolate for your buck so it’s still incredible value! We actually served this as dessert – it makes for an impressive centrepiece. The Belgian Chocolate Egg Collection is the perfect hostess with the mostess treat – featuring pastel foil wrapped flavours such as truffle, salted caramel, crunchy praline and lemon ganache, they went down a treat in our office.
The Bulgari Hotel ‘Nest Egg’: £26, Bulgari
This Easter at the Bulgari Hotel, the traditional egg has been elevated to an elegant work of confectionary art. The ‘Nest Egg’ is handcrafted with 66% cacao dark chocolate made from Trinitario beans of the Caribbean islands, and is encased in a luxurious red velvet coating. Framed by delicate feather-like dark chocolate and golden chocolate ribbons, the egg sits upon a base of solid white chocolate and chocolate chips, resting on an intricate nest of dark chocolate.
The egg is available to take away but you can also enjoy in the Lounge at the Bulgari Hotel, London.
Selfridges Selection Milk Chocolate Easter Egg: £29.99, Selfridges
This beautiful Easter egg is hand painted with each individual brush stroke visible under its glossy finish. We love the spring colours and with only 200 made exclusively for Selfridges, it’s a pretty special treat for your loved one this Easter.
Pierre Marcolini The Kimono Doll: £125, Pierre Marcolini
Ok, so this beauty is not cheap but we just love how bonkers it is. Made up of both dark and white chocolate, it also comes with six different flavour mini eggs (white chocolate pistachio praline, milk chocolate hazelnut praline, white chocolate almond praline, milk chocolate nougat praline, double fondant and double milk).
PAUL
There’s more to Easter than eggs! PAUL have a couple of very special new chocolate additions to the menu for the true chocoholic. Chocolat Chaud is the richest, thickest, darkest hot chocolate we’ve ever tried. Add to that the limited-edition chocolate baguette and you have a match made in heaven. We encourage double dipping.
Chocolate Egg Vodka
Ok, so not strictly an Easter Egg but we couldn’t resist including this chocolate egg flavoured vodka from Revolution. The bright yellow hued drink is actually delicious and tastes just like the real deal. Be quick though, this limited edition flavour is only available whilst stocks last.
