The Perception at W London is one of London’s newest bars and certainly one of it’s most centrally located. It’s on the first floor of the hotel and overlooks Leicester Square in all its splendour. If you can nab a window seat its got to be one of the best people-watching spots in London!
The Perception has subtle nods to the W’s love of fashion, music and design. The interiors were designed by Amsterdam-based design firm Concrete who designed seven flexible areas each with a different look and feel. For example, there are circular booths surrounded by gold curtains for smaller scale drinks, or an area by the DJ booth with a GIGANTIC (and we mean gigantic) disco ball perfect for dancing the night away.
There are also bespoke leather sofas designed by Frith Street Tattoo Studio with a view over Leicester Square and interactive DJ booths for those who fancy testing their spinning and mixing skills!
But what about the food and drinks? The Perception is open 8am to 1.30am (3am on Friday and Saturday nights) so you can pop in for anything from lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, Sunday brunch as well as just for a few drinks. The cocktail menu is different and ambitious, take for example the Enjoy the Show which plays on the bar’s proximity to the cinemas in Leicester Square – a blend of infused Woodford reserve, chocolate bitters, Coca Cola foam and REAL popcorn. Then, as you would expect, they have a good selection of wine and beer.
We visited on the opening night and it was certainly one we won’t forget in a while! Live tattooing, fire eating, hula hooping, live DJ – there was a lot going on! With good drinks, a late license and a prime location, we imagine The Perception at W London will be here to stay!
