Can you believe it’s had it’s Covent Garden branch for 2 years?? Time flies when you’re having fun!
To celebrate this birthday Balthazar teamed up with fashion favourite Matthew Williamson and during the craziness that was London Fashion Week we were lucky enough to check it out!
Available from 3pm to 5pm every day (including weekends), the afternoon tea at Balthazar is a feast of perennial favourites like cucumber, smoked salmon and egg mayonnaise sandwiches, hand-crafted cakes, freshly-baked Irish buttermilk scones, Postcard teas and herbal infusions (a fully gluten-free version of this tea is also available).
The Matthew Williamson Afternoon Tea at Balthazar will be available until Friday, 1 May 2015 – literally the most perfect place I can think of to take my mum this Mother’s Day.
Matthew Williamson comments “I was honoured to be invited to help celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Balthazar.
I’ve had the pleasure of being a guest many times and love its convivial and fun atmosphere. Afternoon tea is a distinctly British tradition so I am delighted to be given the opportunity to put my unique spin on it.”.
Traditional Afternoon Tea is priced at £25 but you MUST have the Chasing Rainbows Afternoon Tea at £35 which incorporates the floral elements and soft coral and pink colours seen in Matthew Williamson’s collection into a cocktail!
Chasing Rainbows is a refreshing mixture of Pinky vodka, Lillet Blanc, yellow Chartreuse, crystallised rose petals and brut Champagne. Delicious and feminine without being sickly sweet.
