Kitchen Party this Saturday

Kitchen Party

Kicking off this Saturday (7th December) Kitchen Party, Clerkenwell’s pop up dining and drinking collective, will invite Londoners with a passion for travel to leave the humdrum of this dreary grey city and be whisked away on an immersive culinary journey around the world.

While the rest of London endlessly makes the rounds of parties peppered with flat Cava, twiglets and paper plates, Kitchen Party transports guests on a whistle-stop round-trip through a menagerie of tastes, flavours and sights, pausing only for those who wish to leave the tour and join the party.

Whether it’s dancing under the stars on a moonlit Caribbean beach; slinking into the shadows of an Oriental opium den; taking a stroll down 54th street, or sipping warming cocktails back in the comfort of Ye Olde England, Kitchen Party will offer experiences from all four corners of the globe, culminating in a party to rival Rio’s best efforts. From street market to shady opium den, Café Orient contains a plethora of sights, sounds and flavours from the Eastern world. Collect delicious noodle pots from the busy street stall, select steamed Dim Sum in the intimate restaurant, or take refuge in the shadows of the opium den where “prescriptions” of spiced Jasmine cocktails will be dispensed from teapots.

Later in the evening, Café Orient will transform into a raucous Karaoke Den. At The Caribbean Rum Shack, feast on fried plantains and jerk chicken, washed down with rum punch and Pina Coladas before enjoying Reggae tunes and feel-good vibes. Next stop is 54th Street, the quintessential New York thoroughfare.

At the Midway Diner, the menu is packed with famous Chilli Dogs, accompanied by classic sides such as corn on the cob, mac ‘n’ cheese and deep fried pickles. For dessert, it’s time to return to England’s green and pleasant land.
The Fourth Wall provides traditional afternoon tea, followed by a mouth-watering selection of cocktails trademarked by Fourth Wall’s sister bar, Bourne & Hollingsworth. There isn’t a strict dress code, but Kitchen Party encourages its guests to be inspired by their destination of choice. Don colourful carnival gear; channel Big Apple chic; add an opium-soaked dose of mystery and glamour with kimono detailing, opulent fabrics and Oriental motifs; go quintessentially Downton Abbey style in lace and pearls or a waistcoat and starched collar for the gentlemen; or join the staff in business class as air-hostess or pilot.

Kitchen Party is running on Saturday 7th, 14th and 21st December | 7pm-1am

Tickets, which cover all travel expenses, visas and food are priced at £40 and are available via www.kitchenpartypopup.com or by calling 0207 724 1617
