Bermondsey food market, Druid St, launched this month. Expect Lardo, Decatur, Fatties and more amongst the lineup.
Founded by Miranda York, the Editor of esteemed food magazine and events company, TOAST (www.eatdrinktoast.com), she is also seasoned in curating engaging and vibrant London markets. The market runs along an existing row of historic arches housing breweries, bakeries and delicatessens and will bring its own flavour to the area; Druid St is committed to supporting local business and community, as well as complementing the surrounding markets and their traders.
Visitors deffo won’t go thirsty with Anspach and Hobday and The Bottle Shop providing the craft brews.
Launch line up:
Bioscheme – organic fruit and veg, eggs and apple juice (flour and honey to come)
FAT by Freddie – unusual pickles, kimchi and hot sauce, plus toasties using the pickles
& Cultured – cultured butter, cream and fresh Jersey herd buttermilk cheese
Blackhand charcuterie – British charcuterie by chef Hugo Jeffreys
Decatur London – New Orleans style food (oysters, po boys, gumbo etc), homemade ice tea, coffee and beignets
Fatties – homemade caramels and other sweet treats
Lardo – restaurant bringing their own charcuterie, bread and homemade chinotto
Blu Top – American-style ice cream sandwiches and floats
TOAST stall – TOAST magazine, Lazy Eye ceramics, wooden spoons by Hope in the Woods, chef knives from Blenheim Forge & beautiful anodised aluminium trays from Kaymet
