Here at Crummbs, we can’t resist a good music festival, but it’s got to have a banging food line up to match.
That’s where Citadel Festival comes in. Returning to Victoria Park on 17th July (yep, the weekend of Lovebox), Citadel combines performances from Sigur Ros, Lianne La Havas, Caribou, Fabric Sunday Sessions as well as the best in Sunday feasting with Stephen Harris and The Sportsman and the finest names in food, including DF / Mexico, Bubbledogs, Patty & Bun, Smokestak, Voodoo Rays, Mr Bao, BIRD, Anne Maes, Jose Cuervo’s Tequila Town and many more.
Also on the bill are talks and debates from Sunday Papers Live who will bring the broadsheets to life with a line-up that includes Eddie the Eagle, Akala, John Hudson and i-D magazine, arts and craft workshops from the Indytute, theatre and comedy from Underbelly and Old Vic New Voices, sports and leisure from Stretch Yoga, Sunday Sports Day, Disco Dodgeball and more.
Playing one of only two UK shows in 2016, Sigur Rós will top Citadel’s billing with what is certain to be an unforgettable headline show. For two decades, the Icelandic trio have been enchanting fans the world over with their stunning brand of majestic, experimental post-rock and their live performances are truly something to behold.
On headlining Citadel festival, the band said:
“We are pleased to announce that we are playing Citadel next summer. In the spirit of adventure, all we can say right now is it’s going to be different. In addition to playing all the songs you know and love, there will be new unreleased songs, a new show and more… Trust us on this one.”
