Afternoon tea comes in all shapes & sizes in London – you can get everything from burgers to biscuit dresses. But our friends at Skylounge have introduced the festive afternoon tea complete with stunning views of London.
£30 a head brings you a selection of dainty open sandwiches, the Smoked Salmon & lemon crème fraiche was our favourite but there’s also the obligatory Turkey & cranberry, English Camembert with plum chutney and Pepperonata with goat’s cheese mousse.
We then moved onto the delicately flavoured apple & cinnamon scones with sweet apple chutney and calvados cream – it tasted like a little apple pie! A lovely take on a traditionally summer favourite.
However, the star of the show has to be the sweet tooth selection! White Chocolate & Coconut was presented in a Christmas bauble – initially not quite sure if this was decoration or there for the taking – we are happy to say we dived right in and wasn’t disappointed! Kids would just love these as well as the Vanilla & White chocolate pop cakes which looks like lollipops dipped in hundreds and thousands.
We reckon this is the perfect pit stop to keep your spirits up in between Christmas shopping – take your mum or the girls & get festive!
With an impressive selection of tea – (how can you choose English Breakfast when there’s Japanese Green Sencha) you’ll be torn between adding a glass of Champagne (for an additional £10) or Mulled Wine!
Whatever you choose, remember your camera, London looks beautiful up here on the 12th floor and the 360 degree view takes in Tower Bridge, The Shard & The Gherkin!
