Jose Cuervo has partnered with gourmet popcorn company Joe & Seph’s to create a limited edition Classic Margarita flavour popcorn especially for Mexican festival, Day of the Dead.

Launching in October exclusively on the Joe & Seph’s website, the flavour will use Jose Cuervo Especial Reposado, a warm, spicy tequila with hints of agave and light oak tones, to infuse a smooth caramel coating. The limited edition flavour will also use lime oil, triple sec and salt to coat the hand-made, air-popped corn to evoke this classic cocktail, giving a hit of zingy margarita in every crunch.
Family owned since 1795, Jose Cuervo was the first recorded tequila brand to advertise its use in Margaritas back in 1945, and has been synonymous with the cocktail since. With Joe & Seph’s innovative approach to unique flavours, this timeless cocktail has been reimagined, giving Margarita lovers a new way to enjoy their favourite cocktail.
The Classic Margarita flavour, which follows the successful launch of Joe & Seph’s Cocktail Collection last summer, uses only natural ingredients, with no artificial flavours, colours or preservatives, is gluten free and suitable for vegetarians. The flavour has been created using Joe & Seph’s signature ‘flavour sequencing’ technique, which unlocks different taste elements, one after the other. The lime oil and salt give an instant hit of zesty citrus, followed by the warming tang of the tequila.
Day of the Dead is an annual festival celebrated in Mexico on the 1st and 2nd November, held to celebrate the lives of those who have passed away. With the growing interest in Mexican culture and cuisine, the festival has started to be celebrated more and more in the UK.
