London’s favourite Scottish restaurant Mac & Wild have recently launched their new Wild Brunch Club, available every Saturday and Sunday from 11am-4pm.
Choose from a traditional full Scottish (including homemade tatty scone, white AND black pudding), or the obscene but irresistible ‘Scooby Snack’ which does little to describe the towering beast of a breakfast burger (above).
For those looking for something a little lighter, you’ll appreciate the ‘foraged’ porridge laden with nuts and fruit or the impeccably sourced pine cured smoked salmon. The menu gives you detailed info on every component of your plate, so you know exactly who caught what and how it got in front of you.
Also running alongside is the lunch menu, which includes *THAT* burger. The Veni-Moo was named the UK’s best burger in the National Burger Awards 2016 and I can confirm it was 100% deserved. The rare combo of juicy, high quality patties (beef & venison in this case) with melty cheese, béarnaise & caramelised onions all squigged into a soft brioche bun is oh-so-sexy, and we’re going to claim – the ultimate hangover cure.
If hair of the dog is your thing you’ll appreciate the breakfast cocktails, all given a twist on a classic. The bloody Scotsmen is just as terrifying as it sounds – Bruichladdic port charlotte, tom juice and a secret spicy goodness that we can’t argue with.
We kind of skipped dessert if you don’t count the must order scotch coffee. You can’t visit Mac & Wild and NOT try their extensive variety of whisky – even if it is still brunch-time.
Also on the first Saturday of every month Mac & Wild will be teaming up with the Botanist for a Wild Brunch Club foraging trip in London. These urban adventures are about getting stuck in and finding what’s on our doorstep and challenging your taste-buds.
