This November sees a covered rooftop in the heart of Brixton transformed into a surreal Christmas spectacle like no other: The South Pole Saloon.
Legend has it that deep in the snow drifts of the South Pole, there is a Saloon. This cosy, other worldly dive bar is where the elves who have forsaken Father Christmas come out to play.
As well as being able to sip on winter cocktails such as Hot Tennessee Toddy’s and Monkey Shoulder Apple Macs, some of London’s most exciting street food traders such as Dip & Flip, The Crust Conductor, Butchies and social enterprise Papi’s Pickles will be serving up their finest dishes for visitors.
Guests will be transported into the mischievous world of the Saloon thanks to their hosts The Snowman, The Sugar Plum Fairy and of course The Rebel Elves who are here after escaping a life of slavery in North Pole under Father Christmas.
The Christmas tree-lined climb from the entrance will lead to the main saloon bar where a DJ booth will look over the crowd. Here, guests can sample a host of Christmas themed cocktails including dramatic sharer cocktails served up in smoking barrels and containing either a fruity Hendricks Gin punch, or a spicy Bacardi Rum punch. Brooklyn Brewery will be providing beer throughout the venue and the Saloon is excited to be one of the first places in the UK to serve brand new, Brooklyn American Ale.
Woodchips will cover the floor and a relaxed seating area will have a direct view of the main stage where, at points throughout the night, guests of The Saloon will be treated to performances where our hosts will tell their tales of how they escaped Father Christmas and came to find refuge in the South Pole. There will also be three decadent, themed private booths available for hire: The Candy parlour, The Rebel’s Den, and Snowman’s Land.
There will also be a photo booth for guests to capture their visit to the saloon.
THIS POP-UP HAS NOW ENDED.
