THE GOOD YEAR POP-UP WINE BAR LAUNCHES IN OLD STREET

This Thursday 21st May, The Good Year will launch as a month long pop-up bar at the Attendant Café on Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch.

By night, from Thursday to Saturday, The Good Year will offer a unique opportunity for wine lovers to feed their curiosity and discover new pours.

The pop up will have a frequently-changing menu of wines by the glass, simply explained with descriptive yet informal notes to how the wines actually taste.

The Good Year concept is born out of a desire to forego the tradition of wine menus which are just ‘lists of names.’ Creators, Mumtaz Lalani and David Payne, aim to make good wine accessible to modern urban wine lovers who may not necessarily have encyclopedic knowledge of varietals and regions to comprehend a regular wine list.

Wines will be priced from £5 by the glass, with a smaller tasting size also available to encourage experimentation.

A small food menu is offered to accompany the wines, including a selection of cheeses and charcuterie, Pavilion Bakery sourdough, and Mast Brothers chocolate ganache for a sweet pairing.

The launch of the pop-up coincides with London Wine Week (18th -24th May), The Good Year will be participating, offering a special flight of undiscovered Italian white wines for wristband holders.
