Tweat Up have just announced their first event of 2014, the return of Taco Wars, which will be taking place at Hawker House on 29th March, with tickets on sale on 11th March here;
http://tacowars2014.eventbrite.co.uk/
Tickets are £35 each, which includes eight tacos (one from each trader) created specially for the event, a dessert taco, a bottle of beer and a Jose Cuervo margarita before choosing which trader will take home The Cuervo Cup and a £2,000 cash prize.
Starting at noon, taco-tasting goes on until 5pm, with the winner announced at 6pm, meaning plenty of time to make the rounds and decide your winner.
Competing this year are Whitecross Market regulars, winners of Taco Wars 2013, Luardos who vanquished the competition with their beer battered king prawn taco, as well as Street Feast veterans Breddos Tacos, authentic Mexico City traders Santo Remedia, Kimchinary with their Korean/LA fusion tacos, B.O.B’s Lobster with fresh tuna tacos, Rita’s Deep South tacos and many more…
Jose Cuervo and Rotary Bar are teaming up to offer pint sized Mexican classic cocktails during the day including, Pomegranate Margaritas, Blood Orange Margaritas, Palomas and El Diablos as well as Tamarind and Chilli Frozen Margaritas from the Cuervo Frozen Margarita Machine and of course the infamous Chilliback (a shot of tequila chased with a shot of Breddos pickled habanero juice).
There will also be a dedicated Tequila Bar open at 6pm until midnight, with drinks mixed by Milk & Honey bar staff.
Those who miss out on a ticket to the main event (the event sold out within minutes last year!) can attend the after party from 6pm ’til midnight for just £3. The traders will be selling their tacos during the after party, and there’ll be other Hawker House regulars serving up delicious dishes to celebrate the last night at Hawker House after an amazing winter run!
