This Saturday 22nd sees The New Zealand Cellar take over the event space at Pop Brixton where they’ll be hosting their next Garage Sale, a day-long wine and craft beer party. Sounds like our kinda party!
Showcasing New Zealand’s most exciting wine exports, and for the first time ever, New Zealand craft beer will also get its moment in the spotlight. Tickets are priced at £15, with each guest receiving a complimentary coffee, to fuel a busy day of tasting; access to the tasting table featuring 20 of the best wine producers in NZ; and a generous serving of craft beer available to try and buy too. Wines will be heavily discounted with many coming in at under £10. Wine and beer gurus will ensure guests sample wines they rarely have the opportunity to try, with a roster of DJs on hand providing the soundtrack.
Tasting Table
There will be plenty of experts present to guide enthusiasts through the entire selection, offering tips and advice on the intricacies of the NZ wine industry. Producers include Man O’War, Nautilus Estate, Seresin, Craggy Range and Dog Point amongst many others.
Craft Beers
The NZ Beer Collective will be opening Yeastie Boys’ Bigmouth (4.4%, UK), 8 Wired’s Hippy Berliner (4%, Warkworth) and Tuatura’s Sauvinova (5.3%, Wellington) amongst many others. All guests will be guided through the whole roster of samples and they’ll also be able to purchase bottles at knockdown prices for one day only.
Discounts
Discounts of up 30% will be applied to encourage guests to explore NZ wines and get enthused about sampling new varietals. For the first time ever The New Zealand Cellar will sell a number of wines for under £10 a bottle. Take the Esk Valley Verdelho, 2015, usually sold at £14.40 and available for under £10 exclusively at this Garage Sale.
Coffee
Stir Coffee are installing a Chemex Coffee bar for each guest to enjoy a free caffeine hit. The Chemex bar offers beautifully filtered coffee and this particular method has a great synergy with wine tasting. It’s the perfect drink to kick start the sale with.
Freebies
If free Stir Coffee and a tasting table of wines and craft beers aren’t sufficient, guests will also take home a branded tote bag and the NZ Cellar magazine, while all entrants will go into a draw to win some great wine prizes on the day. There’s free parking around the venue for those looking to fill up their boot too.
DJs and entertainment
Hosted in the large open-plan space at Pop, DJs will provide a light-hearted soundtrack to the day. Guests can come and go into Pop to fetch their afternoon sustenance from vendors like Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen, Vietbox, Donostia Social Club and Other Side Fried.
