London Fields New Brewery and Taproom

London Fields Brewery

How’s dry veganuary going for you? If you’re ready to break both new year’s resolutions we’ve got just the place to do it! London Fields Brewery has had a shiny new makeover, revealing a sexy brewery and taproom under the arches.

The all-new taproom has a killer drinks menu, serving brewery-fresh tank beer ranging from IPAs to traditional lager styles and seasonal sours (we confess, we tried them all). In addition, to match the broad selection of brews, London Fields Brewery has brought Prairie Fire BBQ on board to look after the kitchen.

Luke McLean, London Fields’ pop illustrator has adorned the wall with a ‘Love Not War’ mural and you can expect a regular programme of beer events, tastings and brewery tours.

Over the past year, Head Brewer Talfryn Provis-Evans has been designing the new brewery from the ground up, while he reworks the London Fields core line up of Hackney Hopster, 3 Weiss Monkeys and Broadway Boss. The ethos, as ever, is to brew ‘flavourable’ and balanced beer that’s inclusive as well as fun to drink. We loved the Haze Runner – a punchy IPA at 6.5% (don’t worry, it’s served in a 2/3 glass) which is juicy with a long bitter finish.

We’d recommend getting a few tasters at the bar before taking your brew over to the large sharing style bench seating (perfect for big groups) and perusing the Kansas City style BBQ menu. Order at the bar and when your grubs up, your buzzer will alert you. There’s a small selection of starters including a meat sampler which will give you a good idea of what they’re all about, as well as sandwiches, burgers and good ol’ mac & cheese.

We tucked into 16-hour hickory-smoked USDA brisket slathered with their Great Taste award-winning BBQ sauce, served in a potato flour bun, with a side of tater tots. The fried chicken number comes with creamy chipotle ranch dressing, pickled jalapenos and we added onion rings – both of which are served with pickle spears on the side. Excellent portion size, gloriously messy – this is the perfect pint food. We also saw many a Deliveroo driver pop in to pick up orders, good to know if you’re in the local area and feeling hungry but lazy.

Of course you needn’t actually break your dry jan/veganuary goals because these guys have an option for both. The ‘Sisters are Brewin’it’ is a very tasty, guilt-free 0.5% passion fruit sour and vegans can tuck into smoked jackfruit buns, 3 bean chilli on tortilla chips and veggie loaded fries.

So what are you waiting for…?
