French riverside restaurant, Le Pont de la Tour, have collaborated with the wine brand, Minuty Rosé, to launch their new rosé terrace for the summer season, La Maison du Rosé. Running from May until 31st August, the recently opened terrace is just the place for soaking up the sun, tucking into fruits de mer platters, unique rosé tastings and seaside influenced weekend rosé brunch menus.
We went along to check out their brunch menu recently, although the sun sadly wasn’t shining for us so we had to sit inside. However, we’re told the terrace has been decked out in rosé-inspired pastel pink colours and pink florals, complete with outside bar – so get Insta at the ready!
The brunch menu includes three courses and a bottle of Rosé for groups of four. If you’re feeling hungry, there are substantial starters such as eggs royal and benedict but we opted for the deliciously garlicky gazpacho and a good ol’ tomato and avocado salad. Mains were tasty enough although not the most exciting, this is crowd-pleasing classics, which veered on the safe side. Having said that, you can’t really miss with steak frites anyway, and it always hits the spot doesn’t it! Our grilled chicken breast was served with a crunchy baby gem salad and very subtle horseradish mayo – we’d have liked to taste punchier flavours. To finish we tried the lemon tart, served here with raspberry sorbet and a ‘pain perdu’ which is similar to bread and butter pudding, topped with salted caramel and vanilla ice-cream. Divine! The limited-edition Minuty Rosé was the perfect accompaniment, sunshine or not.
Still very popular with tourists, we’d save this for your friends that are coming from out of town – you can’t beat that riverside location.
Alongside the special menus, Le Pont de la Tour will also be offering wine tastings in an informative and relaxed masterclass centred on Minuty’s extensive Rosé selection.
