Hot off of the back of our Hoxley and Porter post, we paid them a visit and it’s safe to say the place lives up to the hype…and the hype has barely even started yet!
Upper Street, home to the likes of John Salt and House of Wolf, spoils you with choice of trendy places to go for a cocktail and nibbles and H&P fits right in here. We’re almost glad it’s here rather than rammed full of after-workers in soho or tucked away down some East London back street.
Entering in along side the ‘Dining Carriage’ to the sounds of old railway stations you’re instantly immersed in the idea of Victorian gentlemen clubs and exploring old Cairo. Interior geniuses Kai have done an astounding job of taking you out of N1 and throwing you into a decadent and exotic den of victorian trinkets, cocktails and, what we hope will be, mischief!
Be warned, Michael Pendergasts cocktails go down very easily – especially the sloe gin and raspberry concoction. Even the Barons Tipple, a cocktail made with overproof rum went down with ease and tied in perfectly with the exotic decor and palm leaves.
Officially opening September 13th we highly recommend paying Hoxley and Porter a visit before everyone else makes it their go to cocktail bar (and they will!)
