Now I’m pretty bloody smitten with the restaurant scene in London, but there’s one thing we just can’t quite compete with when it comes to New York – and that’s BRUNCH.
Luckily for us Hotel Chantelle has crossed the pond and made a home on Orchard Street (just next to Selfridges) bringing us a slice of that New York brunch with a dollop of jazz for good measure.
This is the sort of place you could happily spend all day, working your way through both the cocktail and the food menu! We did!
Thyme Pomelo Brûlée felt like a pretty virtuous start to the day and was almost too pretty to eat, but there’s no way you’ll be able to stop there with the likes of Baked Alaska Waffles, Lobster Benedict and French Toast (a stuffed brioche with maple infused mascarpone and ricotta, crusted in frosted flakes and peacans, served with maple syrup) on offer.
Yep, be sure to wear your stretchy pants.
Our must order dish though? The Baby Leaf Caesar salad – think we’ve lost our mind? This bad boy is served in a garlic parmesan cone. Trust us. Salad’s never looked so sexy.
Wash it all down with the Shadrach – combining vodka, strawberry, basil, lime, balsamic reduction, fraise des bois & green peppercorns – it’s sophisticated enough to drink before midday.
