Coffee, move over – it’s time for the humble cuppa to take centre stage.
You’ll find brand spanking new Good & Proper Tea tucked away, just off of Old Street roundabout, but it’s worth finding for the best Matcha Latte I’ve ever had in good ol’ London town.
The cute space was crowd-funded, so I’m clearly not the only one that is singing the praises of this place.
Tea fanatics will love the huge assortment of tea types – choose from Black, Oolong, Green, White & Matcha Latte which are then brewed to order for you in their futuristic Steampunk brewer and served in beautiful Japanese ceramic cups (they do take away too!).
Not only that, this little (but perfectly designed) space serves food too – Sourdough crumpets to be specific and they really hit the spot. Perfect for that in-between breakfast/lunch or lunch/dinner gap – you know what I’m talking about! We adored the onion jam and melted cheddar combo but sweet tooth’s will be bowled over with homemade Nutella.
We like the background story too – Emilie’s a rather brilliant entrepreneur you see. Having roved around town and the summer festival circuit with their crowd-funded mobile brew bar, one thing is clear – there’s a real appetite from London’s tea lovers looking for a decent cuppa to rival the artful flat whites on every corner. With their second crowd funding campaign successfully funding the Shoreditch opening and another to come in Soho in 2016, Emilie is on a crusade to give London Good & Proper Tea! Hoorah!
