East, Street Food

Flamingo Pier is BACK.

Yippeeeeeeee – This is the real mark of summer. Our favourite canal side party is back and they are kicking things off on May 1st with a Balinese theme – the first of their Summer Postcards series.

Enjoy Balinese inspired street food from Ayam Happy on the Counter Cafe floating pontoon.

Try thier signature Kombucha cocktails and the new steam lager from Crate Brewery on the refurbished Alfred Leroy canal boat (with new cocktail bar onboard).

FP Signature cocktail

Dance to sunshine soul, funk, boogie and disco from Crazy P co-founder Ron Basejam (Futureboogie/Wolf Music/Razor n Tape) and the FP DJ’s.

Visually you can look forward to new neon and projection installations created in collaboration with Hackney Wick artists Cursor and Maxeroo.

BUT MORE ABOUT THAT FOOD…..

Isadora Tan formed Ayam Happy after struggling to find authentic Indonesian street food when she moved to London in the mid-2000’s.

She’ll serve traditional favourites like Beef Rendang (made to her Grandmother Elly’s recipe) as well as lesser known dishes like FP exclusive Kambing Guling (slow-cooked, marinated Lamb shoulder).

Expect fragrant, warming dishes with the depth of flavour that makes us wonder why it’s still so hard to find good Indonesian food in London.
