Cheese lovers of London prepare – the team at Grate Expectations are bringing back Cheese Town for the Easter Weekend (Friday 30th March – Sunday 1st April 2018).
After the success of the Cheese Town launch in December and subsequent event in January, the festival dedicated to cheese is back. Moving from its original home of Brixton Rooftop, Cheese Town takes up a new residence at Flat Iron Square in Borough. As always guests attending can choose from a range of traders to get their cheesy fix including Cheese Town staples Mac to the Future who claim their Mac ‘n’ Cheese dishes will put you into the most magnificent cheese induced coma. What a promise!
Grilled cheese sandwich connoisseurs Meltsmiths will be offering their infamous grilled cheese on artisan sourdough including their most popular dish, “Grill & Ched’s Excellent Adventure” a triple cheese blend with onion jam – enough to get any heart bubbling. Canadian friends True North Poutine Co, offer an unmissable cheese curd and homemade gravy topped fries treat. Finally, no cheese event would be complete without alpine lovers The Raclette Brothers.
Those lucky enough to obtain a Cheese Town ticket will be greeted by the dreamy smells of baked brie and melting mozzarella as London street food sensations cook up a feast oozing with cheese in the cosy and delightful Flat Iron Square. Throughout the weekend, Cheese Town will host a variety of masterclasses hosted by Mac to the Future, where everyone is invited to a weekend of demonstrations with plenty of cheeky tasters. For those cheesy romantics out there, sharing cheese boards will be on sale with accompanying taster notes.
If you’re looking to take your cheese weekend to another level, stay and party at Omeara, a neighbouring venue or sit back and enjoy one of the live bands. The bars will be fully stocked with cocktails, draft beers and wine pairings for your cheese as well as mulled wines and hot ciders.
