If you’ve ever spent half your night queueing for Bukowski in Brixton or Boxpark, you’ll know it’s high time these fellas secured a bigger, more central venue.
Lucky for you, Soho are the proud new neighbourhood to welcome the meat mecca.
These guys are all about that sexy josper oven – think smoked meaty goodness, every which way, along with homemade pickles and banging cocktails to wash it all down.
The signature burgers you know and love are still present – we adore the Red ‘n Blue served up medium rare with stilton and red onion chutney, lettuce & mayo. Sloppy and messy, exactly as a good burger should be.
If you fancy a challenge the Smokey Beast is quite the handful with a beef patty AND smoked pulled pork.
But lucky Soho gets a whole load of brand new dishes, so even if you think you’ve been before, it’s time you go again.
A plate of thinly sliced tasso pig cheek is unbelievably good value at just £3.50 and is finished with pickled peach relish. We ate this with fried mac n cheese which managed to retain all of its cheesy moistness in a crispy casing.
Chicken wings come three ways but we can never resist a blue cheese dip. If you’re one of those types you might be interested in the XXX HOT XXX option which you can have free IF you manage to finish them. Good luck with that you nutters.
The lamb cutlets are one of the more grown up options on the new menu and was perfect with a side of smokey BBQ beans.
Even the cocktails get a smokey make-over – check out the smokey old fashioned.
We couldn’t manage a dessert (it might have been the cornflake milkshake, we couldn’t resist!!) but the buttermilk waffle with ice-cream and cherry jam looked pretty special.
We’ll be coming back for brunch – the Cornmeal-crusted soft shell crab with sriracha mayo on a brioche bun with a breakfast Margarita is JUST how we like to set ourselves up for the day.
