World Vegan Month begins today (1st November) and we’ve noticed a serious surge in the number of restaurants getting involved. Even those you most associate with meat, have jumped on board the plant-based movement – so whether you’re a fully signed up vegan, just curious or you’re trying to kerb your meat sweats, this little lot are all offering something special to celebrate!
Covent Garden’s North Indian/British chop house are adding a very special Squash Tikka naan to the menu for the month. A fluffy, toasted naan with charred butternut squash cooked in the tandoor, chickpea mayo, pomegranate chutney, tandoori marinade and a crispy cornflake nut mix. The perfect mix of spicy and sweet – we can’t wait to try it.
Hawksmoor’s younger sibling going vegan might come as a surprise to some who see it primarily as a ‘meat’ restaurant but there will be a whole new Vegan menu, most of which will be available beyond November. Expect Carrot hummus with carrot top pesto and chilli; Roast acorn squash pie with vegan gravy; Spice-roasted cauliflower, chickpeas, wilted spinach & curried aubergine sauce and a mind-bogglingly brilliant Aubergine ‘steak’ with wild mushrooms, onions and vegan béarnaise – all will be priced between £5 and 9.50.
Located in the heart of London’s Square Mile and offering spectacular rooftop views, French restaurant Coq d’Argent will be serving an exclusive all vegan menu in celebration of World Vegan Month. Throughout November, guests can enjoy dishes including black truffle risotto, spiced vegetable couscous, and handmade sorbet with vanilla poached pineapple as curated by Head Chef Damien Rigollet.
The Stable will actually be giving away FREE Vegan Pizza on 1st November from 6pm, until they run out of dough. Best to get there early we reckon. (There’s also gluten free options available too.

Essence Cuisine’s full menu will be available day and night too, including favourite dishes Garbanzo Scramble made from Scrambled Chickpeas, Kale, Green Harissa, Asparagus, and Anchovies; Heirloom Tomato Lasagna, beautifully presented layers of Courgette and Tomato topped with Sun Dried Tomato Marinara, Pistachio Pesto, and Macadamia Ricotta Cream; and Raw Pad Thai, made from Kelp Noodles with Marinated Kale; Tamari Almonds; and Lime.
