Time Out is turning 50, and to celebrate, they’re throwing an enormous party on the 29th September in King’s Cross, taking over the whole of Granary Square for an anniversary blow-out bash.
Featuring a floating stage on Regent’s Canal, some of the best food and drink in the city right now, and literally the world’s biggest gin cloud (courtesy of Bompas & Parr and Sipsmith, who else?) which will descend upon the square, it’s not one you’ll want to miss.
Foodwise 120 lucky people will get a 25-minute taster experience of Gingerline latest immersive extravaganza ‘The Grand Expedition’, and KERB are in charge of the street food collective – expect Mother Clucker, Ribman, Yum Bun, Club Mexicana and other foodie delights. There will be cocktails from a curated bar, featuring the city’s finest drinking institutions and former winners of the Time Out Bar Awards including Dandelyan, Swift and Bar Termini.
Entertainment includes east London drag collective The Glory who will present cutting-edge cabaret on the floating stage, London’s coolest choir Some Voices will revamp hits by legendary Londoner David Bowie, Southbank Centre will showcase choreographer Holly Blakey with a specially curated performance, there will be feminist wrestling from EVE and a flurry of vivid colour at one of Andrew Logan’s famous Jewellery Parades. Party guests can finish the night shaking it to four DJs – including a headline set from Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor – selected in collaboration with Time Out 50’s official music partner, King’s Cross music mecca Spiritland.
