Husband and wife duo Chris Hayden (Florence & The Machine Drummer) and Mairead Nash (Owner of Luv Luv Luv & Hate Hate Hate Records) are the brains behind Clapton hangout Lion Coffee + Records.
As the name suggests, the all-day venue serves Allpress coffee and coco pops at breakfast, through to Espresso Martinis after dark – all with a side of vinyl. You have to follow these guys on social as the opening hours are pretty fluid, but it’s worth keeping an eye out as there are tons of special one off nights worth checking out.
We love mooching down there on a Sunday morning, seeing what’s playing and having a good rifle through the mixture of vintage and new releases. Sometimes you’ll find a rail of vintage clothes, and you’ll nearly always find the staff are more hungover than you. Which is just how we like it.
Every other Sunday between 4-8pm you’ll find the tiny space packed out with locals checking out new live music – you never know what you’ll get but it’s always worth prolonging the weekend for.
The next record day is tomorrow (Saturday 22nd April) which is the ideal time to check these guys out.
