To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the original Hakkasan Hanway Place, both London restaurants are launching brand new ‘Only At’ menus. Designed to reflect the individuality of the restaurants, the menus feature brand new dishes and cocktails exclusive to each location. The Only At menus celebrate local culture and cuisine, while still using the modern Chinese cooking techniques Hakkasan have become world famous for.
Hakkasan Mayfair launches its Only At Bruton menu, featuring dishes such as Wok fried pork belly in lychee sauce, Stir-fry langoustine Szechuan style, and Eight treasure crispy beancurd with yam bean and shitake mushroom. Each dish was bursting with flavour and the quality of the ingredients, all based on seasonal availability, really shone through.
Our personal favourites were the Grilled Japanese Wagyu rib-eye with spring onion soy, and the XO scallop stuffed in zucchini with Royal pumpkin sauce. The Wagyu beef, wrapped around an asparagus tip, melted in the mouth. The flavour of the beef was truly like no other we had ever tasted before! The scallop was cooked to perfection and when combined with the slightly sweet pumpkin sauce and chilli spice was one of the best scallop dishes we’ve had in a long time.
If it’s desserts that get you going, the Only At Bruton menu is offering you a Rum baba with malted milk and roasted bananas. A pipette of rum is served alongside allowing you to finish off your dessert. That means we can legitimately say we’re amazing chefs right?
As well as brand new dishes, a selection of specially designed cocktails are also on offer. We would recommend the Ginger Cooler (Diplomatico Reserva rum, ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, apple and ginger ale) a tall refreshing drink, perfect for after work drinks. We also tried the Twist and Stout made up of Diplomatico Reserva rum, Grand Marnier, espresso and a homemade stout syrup – if you like espresso martinis then you will love this drink!
And Hakkasan Hanway Place isn’t missing out on the fun either! The Only At Hanway menu includes six dishes such as Braised royal king crab with rock chive, Wok-fried Scottish razor clam in Xo sauce, and Spicy Rhug Estate lamb cannon with kumquat, ginger and garlic.
All eleven Hakkasan restaurants around the world will feature an original Only At menu. The set menus will change twice a year based on seasonality and will aim to highlight the originality of each Hakkasan menu around the world.
