Venturing into Central London on a Saturday is not something we would normally consider. Only the promise of brunch would lure us anywhere near Oxford St but this time, we’re glad we braved the crowds!
Dirty Bones is offering brunch on Saturdays and Sundays between 11-4, giving you plenty of time to sleep off any hangovers. Speaking of which, if hair of the dog is your kind of thing, Dirty Bones is offering bottomless Prosecco for £19pp. Yes please! They also have a range of cocktails on offer, including the Dirty Mary, a mix of Finlandia vodka, tomato, lemon and pickle juices, hot sauce and a sour cream Pringle rim.
The menu offers a mix of some of their normal menu items (burgers, dogs, etc) alongside some brunch classics. After a lot of deliberation, we opted for the Chicken & Waffles, Baked Eggs, with a side of Breakfast Fries.
The Chicken & Waffles did not disappoint! Crispy fried chicken was piled on top of freshly-cooked waffles, topped with a fried egg, with maple syrup on the side, yum! The chicken is 6 hour brined and 6 hour sous vide cooked before frying for extra tenderness and you could really tell. It fell of the bone and didn’t feel greasy like a lot of fried foods. With a runny egg and maple syrup on top, we were in heaven!
The Baked Eggs (two eggs baked in tomato sauce with avocado, tallegio cheese and parmesan bradcrumbs) was also delicious. Who knew avocado would taste so great baked! Then the Breakfast Fries, crispy French fries topped with two fried eggs and Dirty Bones smoked tomato ketchup… so good! There’s just something so right about dipping a crispy chip into a runny egg yolk!
Get yourself down to Dirty Bones for a brunch that will cure any hangover. And if you can’t face going central, they also have a branch in Kensington!
