125 Church Street is Stoke Newington’s new café, bar and events space – owned and run by Marc Dalla-Riva and Matthew Rix, who are also behind The Blacksmith & The Toffeemaker pub in Clerkenwell. The venue offers Caravan coffee and gourmet Crosstown doughnuts throughout the day – which you can bag yourself for FREE when you buy a coffee until tomorrow!

Following an extensive refurbishment of the site, the ground floor offers a spacious sofa area – ideal for small groups – overlooking the terrace and 25 foot garden. In addition to coffee, the drinks menu covers an extensive range of craft beers bottled, canned and on draught, from £4, including brewhouse favourite Founders All Day IPA, or locally brewed Pressure Drop Stokey Brown. A carefully chosen wine list starts at £4.20 a glass, and there’s also a selection of premium spirits.

The sandwich menu includes a classic Grilled Cheese made with four different cheeses, as well as a Cuban (12 hour pulled pork, deli ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard) and the Reuben (salt beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and home made thousand island dressing), all served with crisps and radish slaw.

Tucked away downstairs is the venue’s events space, which includes a basement party bar and snug alcove spaces – perfect for groups. There will be a regularly changing roster of DJ’s and other hosted nights, and the whole room, which can hold up to 90, can also be taken over for private parties during the day or at night.
