Time Out has crowned Bar Termini Soho London’s Bar of the Year at its annual Time Out Bar Awards celebration last night – an elegant Italian cocktail and espresso bar from cocktail whizz Tony Conigliaro and coffee legend Marco Arrigo.
The awards are part of Time Out’s global bar programme, celebrating the best bars, brilliant bartenders, the most outstanding bar teams and extravagant bar designs that define the drinks scene in eight of the world’s most influential cities around the world.
Other venues in high spirits this morning include Swift, a casual yet sparkling Soho bar, which earned it the Best New Bar award, Black Rock, a brooding City bar dedicated to whisky, which picked up the top spot for Best Single-Focus Bar; while celebrated South Bank hotel bar Dandelyan was awarded Best Bar Team by Time Out’s judging panel.
The shortlist celebrated bars with fun at their core, championing pared-back drinking. Many of the bars nominated for awards this year were small spots for a cosy drink, with the panel championing neighbourhood bars as well as flashier hotel spots.

- Best New Bar – Swift (Runner-up – Three Sheets)
- Best Bar Team – Dandelyan (Runner-up – Connaught Bar)
- Best Bar Design – Oriole (Runner-up – Untitled)
- Best Single-Focus Bar – Black Rock (Runner-up – Noble Rot)
- Most Creative Drinks List – Peg + Patriot (Runner-up – Dandelyan)
To pick the award winners, presented in association with Southern Comfort, Time Out assembled an industry-renowned panel comprising of drinks experts, award-winning bartenders and industry legends. Panelists included Lucy Britner (deputy editor of Just-Drinks.com) Leon Dalloway (founder of Gin Journey), Ryan Chetiyawardana (founder of Dandelyan and Super Lyan), Davide Segat (Bar Manager at Bar of the Year Award 2016 winner Punch Room at The London Edition), Time Out’s own editorial team and many more iconic industry professionals.
