We love afternoon tea as much as the next guy, but do you know what we love more – CHEESE!
The Georgian House in Pimlico have cottoned on to this fact and combined the two into one very special afternoon tea.
The three tiers all contain cheese, but you’ll start with a plate of savoury bites. Think creamy burrata, tomato & pesto bruschetta, a mini open sandwich topped with sheep cheese, spicy nduja and roasted peppers or the rarebit with smoked cheddar and apple chutney.
Traditionally the next tier would hold the much loved scones with jam and cream – but this being a cheese afternoon tea, that’s been replaced with slices of cheese, apple and chutney for you to ensemble on either a blue cheese or cheddar scone.
But don’t think the sweet course has been completely forgotten – oh no – on the final tier you’ll find the likes of raspberry and mascarpone in a tiny cone, or the black forest cheesecake with pretzel crumble.
All of this can we paired with a rather inventive wine flight – you’ll start with an English red wine, before sampling cider and finishing with British bubbles – or you can just delve straight into bottomless prosecco.
