Down to Earth: a Tasting Rooted in Sustainability with Berry Bros. & Rudd

Crummbs London Restaurant Reviews Berry Bros. & Rudd

Natural? Organic? Biodynamic? Sustainable? Low-intervention?

There are masses of terms used to describe wine and they can get a bit confusing. Thankfully Berry Bros. & Rudd is hosting a tasting to help environmentally-conscious consumers to better understand how the wines they’re drinking are made.

The upcoming wine tasting which takes place on Thursday 28th March will be a celebration of sustainability in winemaking.

During Down to Earth: a Tasting Rooted in Sustainability you’ll have the opportunity to taste a selection of the range from around the world, crafted using varying environmentally-friendly approaches.  With producers Eva Fricke (Rheingau, Germany), Rosie Finn (from Neudorf in Nelson, New Zealand) and Morgane Fleury (from Champagne Fleury) in attendance alongside experts from Britain’s oldest wine merchant, you’ll find out from those in-the-know what the terms found on labels and wine lists mean – both in terms of the way a producer works and for the wine they drink.

The tasting will demystify the complicated language and definitions surrounding this topic, including biodynamic, organic, low-intervention, sustainable, natural, dry farming and sulphur. An additional masterclass option is available where you’ll get to listen to the three winemakers discuss what it’s like putting theory into practice, and the impact it has on their wines.
